Disaster Assistance Handbook
"Citizen architects" assist their communities in disaster preparedness, during a state of emergency, and in the wake of a disaster to plan for hazardous events, assess the habitability of homes and businesses, ensure building codes are updated, and advise on responsible land use that will allow businesses and communities to assume operations more quickly after a disaster.
The AIA Disaster Assistance Handbook will help architects better understand their role and how to prepare for and respond to disasters. For a brief overview, check out the Disaster Assistance Handbook quick guide.
