AIA NWW Scholarship

AIA Northwest Washington Section’s annual scholarship supports students from Whatcom, Skagit, Island, San Juan, and northern Snohomish counties pursuing architectural studies. Learn more about the scholarship, contribute to the fund, and apply!

The goal of the AIA Northwest Washington Section Scholarship Fund is to foster the profession of architecture through financial assistance for the education of local residents who are pursuing a Professional or Master’s degree in Architecture. Scholarships will be awarded annually, or at the discretion of the AIA Northwest Washington Steering Committee. In addition, the awards will be acknowledged on the AIA’s website, including an overview of the recipient’s interests and goals in the field of architecture.

The application process is open to all residents (inclusive of students with immediate family) of Whatcom, Skagit, Island, San Juan, and northern Snohomish counties who are enrolled in an accredited School of Architecture, or who have applied, or intend to apply to a School of Architecture, regardless of location.  Schools of Architecture must be accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).

The committee strives to award two scholarships up to $5,000 each (at the Steering Committee’s discretion) once per year. The funds are comprised of direct donations from our AIA Northwest Washington Section architectural firms and individuals, along with interest earned from the Fund’s endowment. Donation link coming soon!

The AIA Northwest Washington Section Committee will review applications, interview the applicants, and grant Awards at the Committee’s discretion. The funds awarded may be used by the recipient at their discretion. Former recipients of AIA Northwest Washington Section scholarships may apply for additional scholarships in consecutive years.

To apply, complete the Scholarship Form by June 15, 2024. Applicants will be notified for the award by July 30, 2024.
