Education

In order to maintain your license in the state of Washington, all registered architects must complete 24 Continuing Education hours every two years and at least 16 must address public health, safety, and welfare.

In Washington, only licensed architects may represent themselves using the title “architect” or engage in the practice of architecture as defined by law. Requirements for licensure include a combination of education and practical experience, and passage of a qualifying exam, the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE). Visit the Washington State Department of Licensing for information on licensure for architects. Learn more about AIA’s Continuing Education requirements.

CE Provider

AIA Seattle is a member-driven organization. We invite and empower our members to lead program development to ensure that we are meeting their needs. AIA Seattle only solicits CE credit for our major education programs and learning events delivered by planning task forces and member committees. AIA Seattle cannot confer credits on another organization’s programs.

Looking to share your own CE opportunities? AIA Seattle is happy to list your organization’s educational event in our enews if you are a non-profit organization or one of our sponsors or allied members, and if your event is happening in the Puget Sound region or is of special interest to AIA Seattle members. Explore ways to connect with AIA Seattle. Learn more about becoming an AIA CE provider via AIA National.
