SHED primarily takes on the following types of projects:

>New high-performance houses (Passive House, Net-Zero)
>Residential remodels
>Adaptive re-use of historic commercial buildings

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
SHED is looking for a talented and motivated designer/architect who will work closely with principals and teams to design and manage projects from Pre-Design through Contract Administration. Capabilities we look for are:

 

>5 + years of experience in architectural offices, with strong exposure to custom residential design
>Demonstrated ability to manage significant components of a project with moderate oversight, including:
            -Client communication
            -Permitting coordination
            -Project budgets
            -Consultant budgets
>Proficiency in BIM (ArchiCad preferred), drawing organization, detailing, and residential permitting processes
>Knowledge of drawing standards, building assemblies, and code pathways
>Strong communication skills: written, visual, and interpersonal
>Alignment with SHED’s generalist, collaborative studio culture
>Motivation to seek out or develop tools that make SHED’s overall design process easier and more successful
