PROJECT MANAGER / ARCHITECT

PYATOK architecture + urban design is seeking a full-time Project Manager with experience in multi-family housing design.  This is a remote position for a Greater Seattle Area resident.

PYATOK is an award-winning, nationally recognized leader in the design of multi-family affordable, senior, market-rate, student, and special needs housing, as well as mixed-use development, master planning, and community facilities. We succeed because our team has a shared passion for delivering high-quality design to the communities we serve.

Our collaborative style of management and culture includes a pedagogical commitment to mentorship, including weekly in-house professional development sessions and annual stipends for continuing education. Our design philosophy and team structures reflect our goal of nurturing “complete” architects. Without the constraints inherent with a studio or department structure, our team members develop their own portfolios of diverse skills and assume ownership of their projects. In addition, this approach dovetails with our expectation that team members actively participate in various aspects of our firm’s operations and management.

Our primary office is conveniently located near the 19th Street BART station in an increasingly dynamic part of Oakland. We offer competitive salaries and benefits (medical, dental and vision; holidays; PTO and paid volunteer time; and 401(k) with company matching) in addition to a collaborative, healthy, and vibrant work environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in architecture, with a minimum of 5+ in multifamily housing
Proven ability to independently lead regional marketing efforts, including networking, client engagement, and local market development.
Demonstrated project management skills including meeting schedule, budget, and quality expectations
Demonstrated ability to take projects from programming through construction phase
Excellent organizational, analytical, record-keeping, and contract management capabilities
Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communications skills with teams, clients, and consultants, including in public presentations
Effective communicator capable of translating local insights into compelling proposal and marketing content.
Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, tracking timelines and prioritizing tasks and deliverables for multiple teams
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Knowledge and application of California Building Code and ADA requirements
Excellent technical skills and thorough understanding of materials, and construction detailing and methods
    Project-related REVIT experience and fluency
Willingness to pitch in and assist where needed in a team-oriented culture
Interest in educating and mentoring younger team members
Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region and periodically to the primary home office for collaboration and planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in architecture (Bachelor or Master of Architecture from an accredited program in the US)
    Current California Architect License
Knowledge of LEED, GreenPoint Rated, and other ratings systems (such as WELL, Living Building Challenge)
Strong design and planning skills including presentation, conceptual design, and design development
Special consideration will be given to specific experience in high rise design, interior architecture design, and/or urban design

Salary depends upon experience, $105,000 – $145,000 annual.
