McClellan | Tellone is seeking a talented and collaborative Architect to join our team. We specialize in high-end residential and equestrian projects, integrating architecture, interior, and landscape design to create cohesive, high-quality spaces. This position is full-time but may begin as part-time with the potential to transition into a full-time role if desired. Full-time employees receive a competitive compensation package, including full medical benefits and employee profit sharing (see more below).
Our office is located on the Wallingford Steps, just above the Burke-Gilman Trail and Gasworks Park. This role allows for hybrid work, with up to two remote workdays per week. We provide the necessary hardware and software to support remote work.
R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
- Collaborate with the Architectural and Interior team to develop comprehensive design solutions for new construction and remodel projects
- Balance multiple active projects in all phases of the design and construction process
- Develop and present design concepts using SketchUp and AutoCAD
- Prepare and present design ideas to clients, incorporating feedback into refined solutions
- Produce construction documents and details that support design solutions
- Maintain positive client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution
- Review submittals and RFIs, and conduct site visits during construction phases
- Assist in big picture efforts related to marketing, project photoshoots, architectural graphics, etc.
Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
- 3+ Years of experience minimum – open to a range of experience types
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD – experience with Enscape is a plus
- Strong verbal and graphic presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, builders, and vendors
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to clearly communicate and develop design ideas
- Familiarity with construction detailing and a capacity for thinking through how a design comes together in the field
- Ability to travel to job sites
- An eager-to-learn spirit with a good sense of humor and a low-drama attitude goes a long way – great work comes from genuine collaboration, not competition
- An appreciation of our four-legged friends is a plus! (dog friendly office)
C O M P E N S A T I O N
McClellan | Tellone offers a competitive salary based on the most recent AIA Compensation Report, based on experience level and licensure status for the mean salary of the Seattle Metro area. Additional benefits for full-time employees include the following:
- Full medical starting 30 days after the start of position
- $100/month Health Savings Account contribution
- Standard PTO:
- 10 vacation days with an additional day per year (maximum 15 days)
- 8 holidays
- Sick time accrued at 1 hour per 40 hours worked
- All PTO, including paid sick leave, is encouraged to be used as desired and any unused time is received as additional paid time at the end of each year
- Profit Sharing – 10% to 20% of salary profit share is contributed by McClellan | Tellone towards a personal retirement SEP-IRA account, tied to the firm’s quarterly and annual financial performance. Historically, contributions have averaged 15%+
