Member Access: Metal Blackening Workshop
What’s the difference between hot rolled and cold rolled steel? How does pickled and oiled steel compare to the raw mill finish? We’ll share drinks and light snacks as metal fabricators demonstrate blackening techniques and compare and contrast finishes on a variety of different joints and alloys. Seattle’s 2015 Energy Code & Its Impacts on High-Rise Construction w/ COTE
Seattle officially adopted the new 2015 Seattle Energy Code on Jan. 1, 2017 with additional requirements coming into effect at the beginning of 2018. These changes leave many in the design and construction communities questioning how this code will affect high-rise office and residential projects, especially those with increased glazing. Sellen Construction, PAE Engineers and MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions have analyzed these impacts through energy and cost modeling and have published the results in a recent white paper.
