Seattle-based 7 Directions Architects-Planners is looking for a Company Accountant/Office Administrator. In this contract-based, full-time position, you will work alongside our project managers, architects, and firm principal to advance our mission of culturally driven and environmentally responsive contemporary Indigenous architecture.

Responsibilities
- Record daily transaction entries.
- Receive and enter invoices into both project management and accounting software.
- Reconcile bank accounts and key accounts monthly.
- Create weekly cash reports, updating principal in clear, non-financial terms.
- Accurately generate and verify monthly and yearly financial statements.
- Record journal entries for non-regular transactions.
- Continue financial planning efforts by generating project forecasts.
- Participate and provide financial insights during weekly all-call meetings.
- Provide managers with ad-hoc project financial reports.
- Communicate regularly with project managers and the principal.
- Assist the principal with organizational and administrative tasks.
- Assist and regularly spearhead office administration tasks, including planning events, creating meetings, ordering supplies, and developing structures for in-office contractors.
- Generate a project leads database, staying updated with potential clients while relaying findings to the principal and project managers.
- Assist with marketing proposals.
- Develop and manage social media (Facebook) presence for the firm.
Qualifications
- QuickBooks Online or other accounting software experience.
- 1-5 years of A/R, A/P, and accounting experience.
- Invoicing and billing experience.
- Comfortable with Excel – Pivot tables, XLOOKUP’s, and SUMIFS.
- An understanding of AEC (architecture – engineering – construction) industry standards as they apply to project processes, phases, and billing.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experienced with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe InDesign, and willing to learn Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience with social media management and simple website updates.
- Willing to assist with tasks not included in the responsibility list above, when necessary.
Preferred qualifications
- Project accounting experience.
- Project management software experience, or ideally, an understanding of Monograph.
- Experience working with a small team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, consultants, and clients.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and office administrative support roles within the AEC (architecture-engineering-construction) industry.
