Seattle’s 2015 Energy Code & Its Impacts on High-Rise Construction w/ COTE

Seattle officially adopted the new 2015 Seattle Energy Code on Jan. 1, 2017 with additional requirements coming into effect at the beginning of 2018.  These changes leave many in the design and construction communities questioning how this code will affect high-rise office and residential projects, especially those with increased glazing.  Sellen Construction, PAE Engineers and MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions have analyzed these impacts through energy and cost modeling and have published the results in a recent white paper.  In this presentation, we will share our findings from this white paper and provide feedback on how the market is adapting to the new code Read more
