CAP Collaboration Series: Ground Source Heat Pumps in the PNW with Notkin Mechanical Engineers

Join our Corporate Allied Partner Notkin Mechanical Engineers for an hour long Continuing Education class on ground source heat pumps.

Course Description

This presentation will introduce participants to the varying types of ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems and review case studies for both vertical and horizontal systems that have been installed in the Pacific Northwest.  Discussion will include site evaluation to determine feasibility,  payback expectations, and infrastructure and building interior considerations to support GSHP installation.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to identify projects where the financial payback on a ground source heat pump system is likely to be positive.
  • Participants will be able to evaluate a project site to determine the best type of ground source heat pump system.
  • Participants will be able to incorporate appropriate infrastructure design to support ground source heat pump systems.
  • Participants will be able to design interior spaces with adequate space and appropriate layouts for ground source heat pump systems.
