Architectural Intern (Design & Visualization | Growth Track)

Studio19 Architects is a design-driven architecture firm based in Downtown Seattle, working across mixed-use and multifamily housing, hospitality, commercial tenant improvements, custom residential, interior design, and master planning. Our studio values strong design thinking, clear visual communication, and hands-on collaboration.

We are seeking an Architectural Intern with 2+ years of professional experience who is eager to grow into a Designer / Project Designer role. This position is well-suited for an early-career designer with a strong interest in concept design, 3D modeling, and visualization, and who wants meaningful involvement in projects from early ideas through design development.

Role Overview

This role focuses on design exploration and visual communication, with increasing responsibility over time. You will work closely with Project Leads and Principals to develop design concepts, test massing and form, and produce clear, compelling graphics that support both internal decision-making and client presentations.

Key Responsibilities

Create and develop SketchUp-based 3D models for massing, form, and design studies
Translate design concepts and sketches into 2D and 3D presentation drawings
Support concept design, schematic design, and design development phases
Assist in preparing architectural drawings including plans, sections, and elevations
Contribute to presentation graphics, diagrams, and visual narratives
Collaborate with project teams to meet fast-paced schedules while maintaining design quality

Skills & Qualifications

Strong 3D modeling skills are essential, with advanced proficiency in SketchUp
Experience with rendering tools (Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion, or similar) preferred
Strong design sensibility and graphic communication skills
Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD for documentation
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Ability to clearly communicate design ideas visually and verbally
Motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively

Education & Experience

B.Arch or M.Arch
2+ years of professional architectural experience
