The Candidate

At our office in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle we have a talented team who manage impactful projects that are essential to our success. As a member of the team at Miller Hayashi Architects, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work directly with the Principals of the firm to ensure the organization runs efficiently and effectively. The position requires prior experience that proves you’re great at prioritizing and time management, and that you can manage a variety of tasks.

The Job

In this part-time Executive Assistant role, the successful candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills, and possess a professional demeanor.

You should be comfortable:

  • Reporting to the managing Principal, and working directly with all three Principals
  • Developing a clear overall understanding of all business functions and projects of the firm
  • Providing essential support and detail management to ensure Principals are focused on their primary roles
  • Assisting with Principals’ written communications and scheduling
  • Providing assistance tracking and updating licenses, subscriptions, and renewals
  • Logging, organizing, and filing vendor invoices and project expenses, and supporting Principals with project invoicing
  • Maintaining a productive working relationship with staff
  • Exercising discretion in handling sensitive information

Ideally you’ll have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience in an architecture or engineering firm
  • Fluency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Competency with Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign is a plus
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to do hands-on work
  • The ability to strategize and handle several tasks at once in an effective and professional manner
  • The opportunity to work 20 to 24 hours per week
