JMA is seeking a driven and passionate Architect Designer 1 (AD1) who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment built on open communication. The AD1 will work under the supervision of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to produce documents in accordance with JMA’s production guidelines. Primary responsibilities include supporting project design, technical development, construction documentation, and code research. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and excellent attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The AD1 will also assist the team by initiating and managing key project processes, such as feasibility studies, proposal writing, and code research, in collaboration with the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to schematic design, drawing production, and construction documentation, including presentations and renderings.
• Assist with code research, budget and schedule development, and support the design process and work plan.
• Follow JMA production guidelines and perform tasks outlined in the AD1 role description.
• Maintain organized project files, including all correspondence.
• Help manage client expectations and coordinate communication among the project team and consultants.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Licensed architect or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Experience in commercial, multifamily, and/or industrial markets a plus.
• Strong commitment to client satisfaction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong graphic presentation abilities.
• Flexibility to adapt to various project types and market sectors, with the ability to manage multiple projects at different stages of development.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Proficiency in Revit and SketchUp required; experience with AutoCAD, Adobe applications (Photoshop, Illustrator), Rhino, Enscape, or similar modeling software preferred.
