Architectural Designer

Fathom Architecture, LLC is a fifteen-person firm working to deliver architectural solutions that elevate everyday experiences in the built environment.  We are located in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market and offer a collaborative work environment with a collegial atmosphere that cultivates professional growth and development.

Our work primarily includes projects with the Department of Defense with a variety of types including administrative, housing, industrial, maintenance, training, transportation, waterfront, and other specialized facilities.  These projects involve new construction, renovations, additions, adaptive-reuse, sustainability and energy efficiency, planning, studies and analyses, and historic preservation.

We are also actively working to expand our professional services beyond the federal marketplace to include more private residential, commercial, and adaptive-reuse projects in the Puget Sound region.

We are seeking an architectural designer.

Full Time Architectural Designer
Salary: $62,400 – $83,200 / year

Responsibilities:

• Complete multiple projects of varying size and complexity, in all phases of work, inception through completion.
• Develop design solutions responding to aesthetic, functional, and technical criteria.
• Researching products and incorporating product information into contract drawings.
• Coordinate all aspects of architectural work with consultants.
• Effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications:

• Accredited professional architecture degree (B. Arch or M. Arch).
• 3+ years of experience in a professional architecture firm.
• Ability to work independently and resolve complex difficulties.
• Working understanding of design documents, conceptual through CDs.
• Understanding of sustainability concepts.
• Familiarity with building and life-safety codes.
• Familiarity with detailing and a variety of building systems.
• Excellent Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
• LEED BD+C or GBI Accredited Professional a plus.
• Experience working with federal codes and criteria is a plus.
