Cone Architecture

Cone Architecture is passionate about urban housing, thrives on creative problem-solving for complex design challenges, fascinated by the translation of zoning and building codes into structures, values our professional relationships and takes great pride in our work.  If this sounds like you, then you would be a great fit to join our team of 12 architects and designers. We are seeking teammates at a variety of experience levels to join our collaborative practice in our Seattle office.

Cone specializes in residential design of all scales and types. We are headquartered in Seattle, WA, and have a second office in Charlotte, NC.  At any given moment, we are working on transit oriented mixed-use buildings, townhouses and rowhouses, single-family homes, and accessory dwelling units, for clients ranging from custom homeowners to speculative developers and affordable housing providers.  Each project is unique but shares a goal of contributing thoughtfully designed homes to the Seattle and Charlotte regions. We achieve this goal by pursuing constant improvement in our processes, seeking diversity of thought, and making room for new ideas.

Project Designers and Project Captains will have the ability to work on a variety of projects in different phases in both Seattle and Charlotte.  Responsibilities of these roles vary, but both will include collaborating on design with the project team, developing Revit models, creating graphics and renderings for design review packets and client presentations and assisting with production and coordination of permit sets. In addition, Project Captains will be responsible for providing technical guidance to junior staff and driving the development of internal processes and standards.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Project Designer: 1-3 years professional experience with multifamily projects
  • Project Captain: 3-5 years professional experience with multifamily projects
  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite with basic knowledge of Auto CAD and Sketchup.
  • Strong rendering and graphic skills.
  • Solid self-organization and time management abilities with a strong sense of accountability for and ownership of work.
  • Clear and confident communication style and problem-solving initiative
  • A Bachelor of Architecture degree or higher

Cone offers competitive compensation and an exceptional benefits package, as well as an annual professional development stipend and AXP/ARE support. Cone strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters learning and growth at all stages.
