Intern Architect

Chesmore|Buck Architecture is seeking an energetic Intern Architect to work full-time in a collaborative studio environment. The candidate will be involved in all phases of project development.

Chesmore|Buck Architecture is a small firm of six architects and designers located in downtown Bellevue and is devoted to designing custom, modern, single-family residences, remodel and new construction, as well as light commercial projects including new and repurposed buildings for office, religious, educational, and restaurants.

We are looking for a candidate passionate about the profession of architecture and that possesses the following:

Education:       Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.

Experience:     Minimum of 1 year working in an architectural firm.

Responsibilities:

• Work independently and as a cooperative team member to develop design concepts into architectural drawings and models for presentations to clients.
• Produce Construction Documents that are clear, concise, and technically proficient.
• Develop knowledge of architectural building systems and building codes and apply them to projects appropriately.

Technical skills:

• Excellent architectural design and illustration skills.
• Strong computer graphic, modeling, and rendering skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Adobe products.
• Experience in Construction Document preparation.

Intangibles:

• Ability to multitask in a team oriented small office.
• Ability to assess and resolve design problems.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Good communication skills: verbal and written.
• A “can do” attitude that is self-motivated and pro-active.
• Must be able to maintain a professional and positive relationship with our clients as well as our internal studio team.

The Intern Architect role is a full-time, in office, position offering a competitive salary and benefits package. Remote work is not an option for this position.

Salary:             Based on level of experience.

Start date:       July 1, 2025
