Tour: Chapel of St. Ignatius
Jerry Cobb, S.J., Ph.D. will give a tour of the Chapel of St. Ignatius on Seattle University’s campus.

The tour will take place on the ground floor, which is handicapped accessible.

Designed by the internationally acclaimed architect, Steven Holl, the Chapel is one of the most significant architectural landmarks in Seattle. The tour will introduce the history and story behind the building, including the conceptualization, design, and construction of the building. Discussions on the architectural, engineering, and project management aspects of the building will be provided. A live music demonstration will illustrate the acoustic quality of the space.
Jerry Cobb, S.J. is an Associate Professor of English and the Jesuit Assistant to University Advancement at the Seattle University. He has been a member of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) for more than 54 years. During his time on campus, Father Cobb has been integrally involved in a number of significant projects and initiatives, including, among others, the construction of the Chapel of St. Ignatius, the Sullivan Scholars program, the enrichment of the art collection on campus, and of course as a member of the faculty. He provided the introduction to Steven Holl’s book The Chapel of St. Ignatius (Princeton Architectural Press, 1999).
