CAE: Design Excellence in K-12 through Progressive Design Build - Panel Discussion and Tour
Use of the Progressive Design Build (PDB) process is increasingly common in the delivery of K-12 education facilities. Presentations by DBIA and other organizations often focus on its cost and schedule benefits to owners and builders, but we rarely hear about how successful PDB projects can help architects deliver better design.
The design-build teams for Cougar Mountain Middle School, Skyline Elementary School, and Fairview Middle School will share stories and case studies about how their projects’ design quality, execution, and impact on the built environment was enhanced by effective partnership, mutual respect, and transparent exchange of expertise.
Time: 4:00 Discussion; 5:00 Building Tour; 6:00 end
Accessibility of the Space: Accessible parking, building and tour access, as well as restrooms are available.
Covid Safety: Face coverings are optional. All individuals within a school building should maintain a physical distance of at least three or more feet between people to the degree as possible.
This program is presented by AIA Seattle’s Committee on Architecture for Education. Accessibility and COVID safety measures are noted above.
