Learning Objectives
Attendees will understand how to properly design fenestrations to minimize heat, air, and water leakage while taking into account construction sequencing.
Attendees will understand the impacts of high-performance fenestration and exterior wall assemblies on a building’s overall energy efficiency and energy consumption, and how to remain cost neutral while incorporating high-performance fenestration.
Attendees will learn to identify the sustainable attributes of current fiberglass window technology and recognize the opportunity to create window design patterns that contribute to daylight, views, and occupant comfort.
Attendees will understand recent changes to local building and energy codes that impact building enclosure design strategies and whole building energy efficiency.

Scott Wood
President SWA Consulting and for VaproShield LLC. – Senior Building Scientist
As president of SWA Consulting, Mr. Wood provides investigations, consulting, presentations and training in Building Science Thermography and Building Science. Scott Wood is an ITC certified Level III Thermographer, as well as having many special certifications such as: Building Science Thermography, Applications of Infrared Thermography in the Inspection and Diagnosis of Low Slope Commercial Roofing Systems.
Mr. Wood is also the Senior Building Scientist at VaproShield, providing product QA/QC on manufactured materials and investigation/laboratory testing of properties for new product development. He provides technical support for the company’s representatives, client inquiries and assists in the development and updating product literature.
Mr. Wood has many publications and provided numerous presentations. He is a founding member, Director of Building Sciences, and treasurer of the International Association of Certified Thermographers (IACT), active voting member for ASTM International C16 and C6 committees, additional membership in: ABAA, National Institute of Building Sciences and local SeaBEC.

A member of Cascadia Windows & Doors technical sales team, Nathan Sikes holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington, with nearly 20-years’ experience in the building science industry with companies such as Allana Buick & Bers, Intracorp Development and RDH Building Sciences. Sikes regularly works with Cascadia clients to optimize their product configurations and specs to maximize their project’s fenestration performance. Sikes lives in the Greater Seattle Area with his wife and family.

Micah Robison has nearly 30 years’ experience in the building materials industry, with the last 7 at Pella Windows and Doors. In his role as architectural consultant, he provides details and specifications for commercial projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. He lives at a riverside retreat in North Bend with his wife of 20 years and children ages 7 and 10. In his spare time, Micah enjoys the great outdoors and home improvement projects.
