WHY DID YOU JOIN AIA SEATTLE?

To find resources and inspirational programming.

HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN WHAT YOU DO FOR A LIVING?

I walk clients through a very daunting task, line by line, conversation by conversation, starting from a concept in the imagination and ending with inhabitable space you can experience in reality.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TODAY?

Taking long walks through Seattle’s beautiful neighborhoods to marvel at the outstanding vistas, the flora, and how people personalize their private spaces.

HAS YOUR CAREER TAKEN YOU ANYWHERE YOU DIDN’T EXPECT?

It’s provided me stability in an everchanging world, knowing that I will be an architect for the rest of my life and knowing there are so many joyful aspects to this multi-faceted career.

WHAT HAVE YOU ENJOYED ABOUT SERVING ON THE AIA SEATTLE BOARD OF DIRECTORS?

I have been overwhelmingly impressed by the Board, this team brings so much energy to the organization and asks tough questions that lead to insightful discussions on our mission alignment and strategy moving forward. It’s a joy to give back to AIA in this tangible way.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN YOUR NEW OFFICER ROLE?

I want to see our organization thrive as a reflection of our wonderfully vibrant city. Our community has a high concentration of creative and technical prowess and I see AIA as a vital point of connection for designer thinkers. My time serving on the Board is focused on seeking out and strengthening connections across design disciplines and maintaining a pulse on the challenges we face as designers, so that AIA can remain relevant and a resource to the community.
