LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Through a survey of award-winning case studies, identify innovative design details that reflect unique cultural and geographical contexts (from Hawaii to Moscow), and support end-user needs.
- Analyze a variety of planning processes that integrate early community engagement and end-user feedback, including the design of full scale mockups.
- Evaluate the planning configurations, mechanical systems, and controls that support a community’s articulated differentiation between ‘housing’ and ‘home.’
- Describe the health and well-being outcomes for aging communities, if all designers were to approach healthcare as they would a home, driven by client values and feedback.
