Climate change is the fundamental design problem of our time. Limited access to concise, quality information can be a barrier to adoption of sustainable design. The recently released AIA COTE® Top Ten Toolkit seeks to close this information gap and make sustainable design strategies accessible to all architects through a framework that can guide the design of any project.
This lunchtime event begins with an overview of The Toolkit and its accompanying Super Spreadsheet, by co-authors Tate Walker, AIA and Corey Squire, AIA. They will be followed by case study presentations from three Bay Area COTE® Top Ten award winners: EHDD (Brad Jacobson, AIA), LMS Architects (Marsha Maytum, FAIA) and Siegel & Strain Architects (Susi Marzuola, AIA). The presenters will discuss their integrative design process and lessons learned, followed by a Q&A session with all the presenters.
This event is produced by the AIA San Francisco Committee on the Environment in collaboration with the PG&E Energy Training Centers.
