Code Dependent: URM What? Unreinforced Masonry Buildings In Seattle
This is the first session in the Code Dependent series.
This will be a standard 4 person presentation made up of structural engineers and city policy experts from the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections. Seattle has over an estimated 1,000 unreinforced masonry structures. These URMs are highly susceptible to severe damage in earthquakes. This class will explain the geologic hazards facing Seattle and why URMs are susceptible to this intense damage. In the second half of the class, retrofit techniques and city policies addressing URMs will be addressed in detail.
Registration Closes: Thursday, April 11, 2019.
Early Bird Deadline: Thursday, April 4, 2019. After this time, the price increases 15%
