Got Codes? 5 over 2 (or was it 6?)

This is the second session in the Got Codes? series.

While Seattle has led the industry in the adaptations of podium building classifications, several adaptations later, some of the building codes can become confusing and difficult to navigate in design and classifications of buildings. Through this seminar, participants will gain an understanding of the history and evolving codes related to these structure types. Participants will also get insight into the upcoming 2018 code changes and what that means for meeting fire life safety requirements in these buildings and others. In addition, innovative projects and materials being used will be looked at through the lens of case studies. Solid waste staff from Seattle Public Utilities will also provide an overview of land use and solid waste code requirements and best practices for waste diversion, recycling & composting infrastructure for mixed-use, multifamily and townhouse developments in Seattle. Presenters will share mini case studies of designs to avoid and designs to envy. Staff will also provide insight into likely land use code changes for 2019.

Registration Closes: Monday, June 11, 2018.
Early Bird Deadline: Wednesday June 6, 2018. After this time, the price increases 15%
