ARE 5.0 Preparation Course - Structural, Part 1
The new ARE 5.0 examination has structural content in many of the divisions. This presentation will help prepare participants in understanding and applying these critical concepts. This information will be presented to benefit participants not only for taking the exam, but also in continuing their career.
This is the first part of a two part course – you must attend both sessions to receive credit for the course. Learn more about the second session here.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will evaluate and compare different structural systems for several example buildings.
- Participants will determine appropriate structural materials for several example buildings.
- Participants will understand structural loads and the code provisions behind them in order to apply them appropriately to an example building.
- Participants will use structural load path concepts to determine loads on structural elements within the overall system.
