2025 Individual Awards Nominations | FAQs

Nominations are open and I have questions!
Visit the Awards for Individuals page for details about each specific award, past awardees, criteria, and eligibility. If you still have questions, we hope this FAQ page will help! The final nomination deadline for the 2026 awards cycle is Monday, December 8, 2025 5:00pm PST.
About Nominating
Do I have to start and finish my submission in one session?
No. Nominators can start, save, and return to draft submissions at any point until submissions close (5:00pm PST on December 8). To return to a draft submission, log in to your Jotform account and select the “Drafts” tab to continue your nomination. Once you hit submit, your nomination cannot be edited manually. Please reach out to Anthony Collins, AIA Seattle Senior Coordinator of Member Engagement, if you have additional information to add to a nomination after submitting.
How will I know my submission has been received?
Upon submitting “SUBMIT” you will receive a confirmation e-mail message from Jotform. If you do not, please e-mail anthonyc@aiaseattle.org
Can I nominate myself?
Yes, feel free to nominate yourself and/or a peer for any of the awards that you feel may qualify.
Is there a limit to how many nominations I can submit?
No, there is no limit to how individuals you can nominate. However, please only submit one nomination per individual. Do not include multiple nominees in one form, or submit multiple nominations for one candidate.
What does the nomination form mean when it asks to provide links to “relevant work”?
Relevant work refers to any documents, webpages, and/or additional information that can support your nomination. This can be portfolios, letters of recommendation, links to completed or developing projects, articles, etc. The sky’s the limit in terms of what you put forward, but make sure it paints a clear picture of your nominee’s qualifications for the individual award! Links to PDF files are preferred, but general weblinks are accepted as well.
When can I expect to hear back about next steps for my nomination?
If your nominee(s) is(are) selected for an Individual Award and are approved by the AIA Seattle Board of Directors, selected awardees and their nominators will hear from AIA Seattle staff in early to mid-January.
About the Jury
Who determines the selected awardees for Individual Awards each year?
Each year, the AIA Seattle Fellows and Honors Committee reviews all nominations and selects nominated candidates for local awards. These candidates are recommended by the Fellows and Honors Committee to the AIA Seattle Board of Directors for final approval.
Does the committee only review nominations received in the current year?
Each awards cycle, the committee revisits all nominations received within the past three years for those were not selected for awards previously. For the 2026 awards cycle, nominations between 2023-2025 will be considered for review.
How does the committee determine who the best candidates are?
The committee reviews all nominations in alignment with the established eligibility and criteria requirements for each award (learn more at the Awards for Individuals page). The committee ultimately identifies the individuals who they feel most strongly exemplify the core values and intent of each award.
About the Live Event
When are awardees formally recognized?
Each year, AIA Seattle celebrates leadership and achievement in design and the built environment at the local and national level through its member awards program, Parti. Learn more about last year’s Parti program here!
