AIA Seattle has a long tradition of recognizing individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements in support of the profession of architecture and the AIA.
AIA Seattle Honors for Individuals
The AIA Seattle Gold Medal, the highest award that AIA Seattle can bestow on one of its members, recognizes distinguished lifetime achievement in architecture, including design and professional practice and service to the profession, the community, education and the arts.
The Honorary AIA Seattle Membership award annually recognizes individuals who are not otherwise eligible for AIA membership who have contributed notably to AIA Seattle’s mission and goals.
The Allied Organization Award annually recognizes an organization which is notably aligned with AIA Seattle’s mission and goals. By celebrating these contributions, AIA Seattle underscores the significance of interdisciplinary cooperation in shaping the future of the region’s architecture and design landscape.
The Young Architect Award is given to individuals licensed fewer than 10 years, and/or Associates who have passed the ARE, who have shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the profession in an early stage of their architectural career.
The Community Service Award annually recognizes an individual or group for achievement of significant community service and for exemplifying the application of architectural skills, values, and dedication to the advancement of community goals.

AIA Seattle’s Fellows and Honors Committee selects nominated candidates for local awards, proposes and supports candidates for the AIA National College of Fellows, and National awards.
AIA Seattle enthusiastically welcomes nominations for these awards and honors year-round, with the Fellows & Honors Committee starting deliberations for this year’s cycle after Monday, December 8, 2025.
