Our Future Seattle: Comprehensive Plan Charrette
Explore the future of our city with the 'One Seattle Plan'!
Join the AIA Seattle Urban Design Forum and the Comprehensive Plan Workgroup to learn about the recently released draft of the Seattle comprehensive plan, the “One Seattle Plan!” This plan is the city’s vision for how Seattle should develop for the next 20 years.
We will be joined by guest speaker Brennon Staley, the Strategic Advisor from the City of Seattle, who will give an overview of the plan and then answer questions. Afterwards, we will break out into groups to dive deeper into the plan and discuss how the plan addresses the core principles identified by AIA Seattle as critical drivers for shaping our city’s future:
- Encourage ‘15 Minute’ Neighborhoods
- Provide Housing Diversity, Affordability and Abundance
- Focus on Equity and Redressing Past Harms
- Consider Mobility and Repurposing the Right of Way
- Prioritize Growth Strategies that Reduce Climate Impacts
- Champion Great Urban Design and Placemaking
The discussion will help form AIA Seattle’s advocacy position on the plan that will be communicated to the city as part of their public engagement process. Come have a voice on how your city should be developed to be a livable, affordable, connected, thriving community!
