Asian American Designers Union: Using Charred Wood for Exteriors and Interiors
AADU-S is honored to have Nakamoto Forestry to present “Using Charred Wood for Exteriors and Interiors”. Wood is a desirable building material for its beauty, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. While many different approaches have been used to improve its durability and longevity, particularly in exterior applications, the Japanese process of charring the surface of the wood has gained global popularity in recent years.
