Project Engineer – Residential construction

Job Summary:
This position is part of the Plum Projects construction team. This position will work on projects from preliminary planning, development, and pricing during the pre-construction phase. Shifting from project planning to execution, this position provides continuity through the process. This act as Project Engineer through construction execution, resolving and clarifying technical issues as they surface, ensure quality standards are met, and supporting the field team, consultants, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project drawings and specifications
Work with project team to develop preliminary pricing iterations culminating in a finalized project budget
Work with architects and designers, assist in build-ability means and methods
Assist in managing timeline and budget
Work with the field construction team toward successful project execution.
Work with subcontractors and vendors to define scope, contracts and project agreements.
Gather and distribute information to project partners
Track project scope, financials, and change orders throughout.
Work through construction issues with project consultants throughout project
Manage documents and information between consultants, contractors, designers, field team
Participate in identification of process improvement and lessons learned
Required Skills
Professional and positive attitude
High level understanding of plans and structural engineering
Experience in areas of project administration and/or project management
Strong understanding of construction process and sequencing
Familiar with different scopes of project consultants and subcontractors
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
Comfort in communication with the trades
Ability to manage complex projects and tasks
High degree of communication skills
Qualifications
Required – Undergraduate degree
Preferred –
Interior Architecture or Design experience 3-5 year
Construction project management or similar 3-5
Masters Degree
$70,000 – 90,000
2 Weeks PTO, 1 week sick, 7 paid holidays
