We are expanding to San Diego! We are experiencing explosive growth in the Science and Technology arena and have exciting opportunities for a Project Architect and Sr. Project Architect to support our Seattle design team and help us establish a San Diego studio. Our presence is substantial with projects in San Diego, La Jolla, and surrounding areas. We are seeking licensed Architects with experience with local entitlement processes, the San Diego building department, CEQA, Coastal Commission and local zoning codes. You will interact regularly with our team, meet, and help manage local consultants. You will have well rounded skills and be an individual who emotes passion, curiosity, and with innovative ideas to help us expand our award-winning local presence.

Sr. Project Architect (Salaried/Exempt Position)

Common and baseline responsibilities of a  SR. PROJECT ARCHITECT, include but are not limited to:

Responsible for leading all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
Leads project documentation execution, construction plans, and details, ensuring quality control and completion.
Understands and responds to technical implications and design decisions.
Directs the production of shop drawings, material samples, and construction documents for conformance with design.
Assures execution of agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.).
Contributes to project marketing pursuits, proposal preparation, and interviews.
Maintains awareness of evolving building technology and engineering systems relevant to project.
Reviews work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance and in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
Leads collaborative teams in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
Demonstrates strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance.
Mentors staff and provides oversight of assignments.
Accountable for effective coordination with partners and consultants.
A high-level summary of critical, baseline technical skills and certifications.

Essential Requirements:

Typical Years of Requisite Experience 10-15+

Effective interpersonal communication skills, verbal, listening and written

Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn

Collaborative and professional work ethic

Licensure

In Progress:

LEED GA within 6 months of hire

Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, CPHC/CPHE Passive House Institute Certified Passive House, or RELi AP
