Interior Design Associate

McClellan Architects is seeking a talented and collaborative interior design associate.  McClellan Architects specializes in high-end residential and boutique commercial projects.  Our work is focused on providing the highest quality design that integrates architectural, interior and landscape design.  We have created a fun and collaborative studio where your creativity and ambition is rewarded and encouraged. This is a full-time position.  For a full time position we offer a competitive compensation package including full medical and employee profit sharing.

Our office is located on the Wallingford Steps just above the Burke Gilman trail and Gasworks Park.  Your work can be partially remote at home- the balance of home/office work can be negotiated.  At home work will be supported with the necessary hardware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Support Interior Designers and Architects in all project phases
  • Collaborate with the design team to generate design ideas
  • Produce presentation graphics that convey the design concepts to the client
  • Produce construction documents and details that support design solutions
  • Work collaboratively with the design team towards documented design solutions
  • Assist with Finish and Material selection
  • Assist with FF&E selection and specification and ordering
  • Procurement and return of samples
  • Management of the sample library

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience Interior Design or Architecture degree from a CIDA or NCARB accredited program
  • Proficiency in: SketchUp, AutoCAD, Affinity Design Suite (similar to Adobe), Google Workspace
  • Experience in 3D rendering a plus – we use Enscape
  • Strong verbal and graphic presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with project team – including client, consultants, and vendors
  • Experience with material selection, interior detailing, space planning, furniture, and fixtures
  • Collaborate with the design team for generating and developing design ideas and ability to clearly communicate design ideas
  • Eagerness to learn.  We believe that excellence can be achieved through hard work and collaboration with others
  • Valid driver’s license
