DSHS FFA Revit and CAD Coordinator

The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Leased Facilities team provides facility resources to support staff who serve our clients, so together we can strengthen, improve, and protect the lives vulnerable Washingtonians.

We are searching for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with architectural design, CAD drafting, and CAD systems management experience. You will be responsible for setting and implementing our agency’s drawing standards and best practices, developing and leading in-house trainings, developing and maintaining drawing libraries, and also producing CAD drawings.

As the Leased Facilities CAD Coordinator, you will report to Leased Facilities and Maintenance Operations (LFMO) Planning and Design Manager. You’ll work closely with the Planning and Design Manager and our in-house Facilities Project Managers who provide strategic planning and design services for approximately 2.2 million square feet of DSHS leased office space statewide.

Some of what you’ll be doing: 

  • Collaborate with in-house design team to produce design development and tenant improvement drawings.
  • Troubleshoot AutoCAD Architecture and Revit system problems and answer all CAD/Revit related questions.
  • Manage, maintain, and coordinate CAD licenses subscriptions, updates, and installations of CAD programs and plugins. Coordinate with IT staff as needed on technology updates.
  • Lead the agency’s implementation of new platforms, such as the current transition from AutoCAD Architecture to Revit.
  • Develop, document, and provide AutoCAD Architecture and Revit training for design team members individually and as a group.
  • Ensure quality control by reviewing and implementing agency wide standards.
  • Provide CAD orientation and on-boarding training to new design team members.
  • Create and maintain AutoCAD Architecture and Revit master/templates and custom families in accordance with recognized industry norms.
  • Develop, disseminate, support, refine, and maintain standards for processes, templates, blocks, desk manuals, and drawing sets.
  • Collaborate with team leadership to plan and implement new processes.
  • Research new technology, trends, and advise leadership on strategic decisions to stay current with industry.

We are looking for professionals with 

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree involving the major study in CAD, drafting, BIM, interior architecture, interior design, architecture or an allied field.
  • Two years of experience in CAD administration
  • Four or more years of experience in the use of AutoCAD and/or Revit in the architectural field.
  • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year for year for education

What we’re looking for

  • Exceptional leader with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree involving a major study in CAD, drafting, BIM, interior architecture, interior design, architecture or related field. Experience may substitute education year for year.
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Architecture and/or Revit.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills, a true team player.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and task, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments.
