Folks here in North America deserve homes that actually function. We are two architects working to build the most lean, healthy, and resilient spaces possible. No drywall, no fuss.
We are pushing the bounds of how much performance a house can deliver. Think serious cost effectiveness for structures that are super energy efficient and will last over 100 years.
We see a lot of proclaimed eco-houses that are poorly detailed and fall apart well before their time. Our homes are built with a warm and tight envelope that dramatically lengthens the lifespan of the structure by providing unmatched thermal, moisture, and air control. We smell new homes off-gassing dangerous levels of volatile organic compounds. Our work only uses healthy, non-red-listed materials like rammed earth, wood, and concrete. No new home smell—just a healthy home. We also feel the frustration of new homeowners who can only get a high-performance house at great expense. Our method of building has been holistically re-engineered to bring performance to more people. Our designs are spacious, light-filled homes that reduce landfill waste in two ways: on the front end as we work with materials, and in the long run when the houses outlast us.
