COTE Building Tour – UW Founders Hall

Join AIA Seattle’s Committee on the Environment for a tour of UW Founders Hall on October 3rd at 4:00pm. Founders Hall is a recipient of the 2025 AIA COTE Top Ten award for exemplary design and sustainability as defined by the AIA Framework for Design Excellence.

Founders Hall is one of the first mass timber buildings on UW’s Seattle campus. The building utilizes a glulam and cross laminated timber (CLT) structure to reduce structural embodied carbon by 60% and all-electric building systems along with passive strategies to reduce operational carbon emissions by 90%.

Visit the AIA COTE Top Ten Awards page to learn more about the project’s approach to energy, carbon, water, and wellness.

Space is limited so please be sure to attend the event if you are registered. If you are no longer able to attend, please contact us at cote@aiaseattle.org so we may offer your spot to someone on the waitlist. We’ll meet on the northeast side of Denny Yard, just north of the main campus quad.
