AADU: INSCAPE Tour
Join AIA Seattle’s Asian American Designers Union (AADU) for a guided walking tour of the Wing Luke Museum’s former US Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) building, currently known as the INSCAPE Arts Building.
Located at the edge of the Chinatown International District neighborhood, this is an opportunity to learn about the stories of early immigration in Seattle and reflect upon the current immigration landscape of today. Retrace the paths of Seattle’s immigration history from Chinese settlers and laborers, Japanese American community leaders imprisoned in 1942, to the Southeast Asian refugees navigating a new country in the 1980s.
Meeting point: The tour will begin at the Museum (719 S King St), all guests should plan to check in at the front desk for payment, and to receive a wristband that allows them all day access to our Museum galleries.
Accessibility
- Travel distance: this tour covers approximately 1 mile of travel on city sidewalks with elevation changes and indoors in a historic building
- Elevator access is available, however some spaces will require one step down to access.
- All gender restrooms are available at the Wing Luke Museum. Women’s and men’s restrooms are available at the INSCAPE Building
- Assistive listening devices are available
