SPARC | Validating your Pre-design: A Primer for Applying AI in Architecture
As designers, it is important to consider the impact of the design decisions to the overall code compliance and energy efficiency.
In this course, we’ll discuss how to better identify and enhance a design’s code compliance using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and specification validation. We will look at cross checking specifications against the model, specifying high-quality, sustainable materials for longer product life cycles and better energy management, and help understanding of embodied carbon. Our goal is to give the designer more opportunities to enhance the design, while reducing the RFI’s in the future stages of the project.
Do you spend a lot of time gathering information about codes, AHJs, exceptions, set back rules, energy efficient materials? What if you can finish some of these research and analyses in half the time and use your time to design your dream building?
In this course, we’ll discuss how to identify and enhance your design’s code compliance using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and help build a robust specification. We will look at cross verifying specifications against the model, document high-quality specs with clear options for materials choices including sustainable materials that will help you qualify for green certification credits.
