PV Panels Production from Start to Finish with Silfab Solar!

Join the AIA Northwest Washington section for an afternoon at Silfab Solar, Inc., a leader in the design and development of high-efficiency solar panels. Event includes an informative session and tour of their new manufacturing plant in Burlington, WA.

This tour will provide an understanding of Silfab Solar Inc.’s automated production lines with ISO-Accredited Quality Management Systems while seeing the manufacturing process of solar panels in real time.

The program session will include an introduction to the basics of PV functionality, an overview of the different types of solar panels in today’s market (with hands-on visuals), and the production process using both conventional and metal wrap through technologies. The presentation will delve into PV module installations, different racking/installation types, how to interconnect solar with the local electric utility, and relevant regulatory issues.

With Washington State’s push for decarbonization, this tour will provide insight of one very important way in which we can reduce carbon impact. We hope you can join us!

Our Tour Guide

Dr. Eric Schneller is Corporate Director of Product Development, Silfab Solar Inc.

Dr. Eric Schneller is Corporate Director of Product Development, having joined Silfab Solar after several years as both a professor and researcher at the Florida Solar Energy Center. Eric earned his PhD from the University of Central Florida and shares his passion for engineering by drawing students to STEM studies, speaking regularly in classrooms and at science fairs and career events. He regularly collaborates with research teams, like that at Phoenix University. About his work Eric says, “We are consistently pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve with innovative solar module technology. The rapid pace of development and the great team at Silfab Solar keeps me energized and engaged every day. Silfab Solar is a very exciting place to work”.
