Pride Place Tour

Join the Women in Design Committee for a tour of Pride Place in the heart of Capitol Hill.

Tour Description: Pride Place, is a LGBTQIA+ affirming affordable senior housing project set to open in September 2023.
Pride Place will house 118 apartments above a LGBTQIA focused community and health services senior community center run by GenPride. GenPride is a nonprofit focused on serving LGBTQIA+ seniors. Commercial retail space will be located along Broadway Street. The project is considered the first of its kind in Washington state.

Located on Broadway between Pike and Pine Streets, Capitol Hill based affordable developer Community Roots Housing and GenPride partnered to preserve and enhance service for LGBTQIA seniors in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Architect and Landscape services were provided by Environmental Works, a non-profit Community Design Center with a mission of “We plan, design, and advocate for community-centered environments”.

Site Restrictions: Tour will meet at Walsh Construction Job Site Office and is limited to 25 people. This is an active construction site. NO elevator is in service, tour participants will walk up 8 flights of stairs. No open-toed shoes allowed, wear long trousers. Safety gear (hard hats, gloves, glasses) will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment.

COVID Safety: AIA Seattle recommends masking as a demonstration of community care. Please stay home if you are feeling sick/experiencing symptoms.
