AHC Spring 2023: The Native American Voice in Healthcare

This year’s AIA AHC Spring Event includes one day of interdisciplinary presentations, design case studies, and conversations with a focus on designing for the Native American Healthcare Experience.  This session will explore how healthcare design can respond and support aspects of culture through architecture and planning.

This live, in-person program will follow all relevant public health guidelines for Whatcom County. AIA Seattle strongly encourages masking to demonstrate community care. Our venue is fully accessible, with zero-step entry and an onsite accessible restroom. Please note in your registration if you would like to be contacted about specific accommodations to fully participate in the program, including but not limited to sign language interpretation.

This program is presented by AIA Seattle’s Architecture for Health Committee. Please contact Anthony Collins with any questions or concerns.

  • Participants will be introduced to project delivery tools that invite participation from diverse stakeholders and learn how two projects leveraged stakeholders to inform design solutions.
  • Participants will learn techniques to mix healthcare programs and space plan to support integrated models of care delivery that provide a holistic approach to healthcare delivery.  This will be taught leveraging solutions developed for two example projects.
