AADU-S x Iris Pan: The Future is Physital

Join the Asian American Designers Union and Iris Pan, a globally-recognized pioneer in the fields of User Experience Design, Emerging Technology Design, Integrative Product Design, discover the design trends made possible with the latest AI and XR technologies.

Iris Pan, a globally-recognized pioneer in the fields of User Experience Design, Emerging Technology Design, Integrative Product Design, will share the most recent design trends made possible with the latest AI and XR technologies. The future of design should poetically bridge the digital world with the physical, to create a world where bits and atoms are interwoven, where technology is used to connect rather than isolate people, inspire rather than distract people, nourish rather than exhaust people.

The design projects that will be featured include

  1. Love Cassette, the first-of-its-kind sound interactive installation that can turn one’s love message into a postcard on the spot, to date, Love Cassette has been visited by over 1 million participants around the world.
  2. Heat Chair, an innovative computational design and fabrication system that can turn human body data into the robotic heating path, to manufacture a chair that is completely responsive to human ergonomics.3. Tangible input XR interactive projects that completely breaks the boundary between the digital and physical world

IRIS PAN

Xiaobi (Iris) Pan is a globally-recognized pioneer in the fields of User Experience Design, Emerging Technology Design, Integrative Product Design, etc. She has been the inventor of the very first sound wave interactive installation visited by over 1 million participants, the app that promises to plant 100 million trees on our planet by 2025, and a series of industry-leading new technology products and experiences.

Currently a Lead Designer at Amazon, she is dedicated to using technologies like Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize the consumer experience for both business and social good.

Outside of work, she likes to write, make music, and saber to her custom songs in Virtual Reality. Her writings on design, technology and their social implications have influenced over 10 million readers worldwide.
