Procrastinator’s Week: Kinetic Architecture

An introduction to kinetic architecture, with emphasis on its purposes and benefits, and methods for optimizing results and minimizing risk when incorporating moving elements into building projects.

Participants will be familiar with kinetic architecture’s definitions and applications, including a brief history, cutting edge developments, and current practical uses. Participants will understand the impetuses for incorporating movement into project designs, including aesthetic and functional applications, and meeting LEED criteria for Green Building certification. Participants will be familiar with new strategies for process optimization and risk management when incorporating kinetic elements into projects of any size.
